What we collect, why, for how long, and what you can require of it. Two parts: candidates, companies.
Data controller
Your data is processed by Wazabe SRL, a company under Belgian law, under the Cernio™ trademark. Registered office: Rue de Tamines 18, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium. For any question: hello@cernio.eu.
The first part covers candidates' data within the recruitment process. The second, that of companies.
Candidates
What we collect
Three elements.
- Your CV.
- Your expectations: what you are looking for, where, and on what terms.
- Your professional profile analysis: three short modules measuring your personality, what motivates you and your way of thinking.
Until your space is open, your CV and your answers are collected through an online form, then processed by the Cernio team.
By creating your account, you agree to receive by email the offers from companies that suit you, sent only by Cernio. Any other consent is requested separately, with its purpose in plain language.
Human review
You may ask at any time for a person to review a decision concerning you (GDPR, art. 22).
What we never ask for
Selection at Cernio rests on what can be measured: the background, the expectations, the potential. We ask neither for your age, nor your family situation, nor your photo, nor any data relating to religion, orientation or health, and none of that enters into the selection. Your photo appears nowhere, not even after anonymity is lifted. If your age appears on your CV, it is removed from the anonymous profile: like your name and your gender, it is revealed to the company only when you accept its contact request.
Anonymisation and transmission of identity
The profiles presented to companies are anonymised: name, contact details, employers and institutions are removed. Nor is the name of a company revealed to you before your agreement.
Your identity is passed on only with your explicit agreement, given for each company, never once and for all. Declining a contact does not reduce your visibility to other companies.
Who has access to your data
The Cernio team, and the companies whose offer you have accepted, for what you opened to them. Nobody else. Your data is neither sold nor passed on.
Retention periods
All of your data, CV included, is kept for 24 months. Before the deadline, we write to you: without confirmation from you, everything is deleted. You may also ask for deletion whenever you wish; it is carried out on simple request. After deletion, the data is erased within 30 days. Technical logs are kept for 12 months at most.
Your rights
From your space: update your CV and your expectations, steer your visibility, put your profile on standby for three, six or twelve months, delete your account. Deletion is final and real, not a simple masking, and its button also appears at the foot of every message we send you.
For full access to your data, portability or an objection: hello@cernio.eu.
You may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (autoriteprotectiondonnees.be).
Companies
If you represent a company, the data processed is what you entrust to us in order to enter into a relationship: your name, your position, your work email address, your telephone number if you give it, the name of your company and what you are looking to recruit.
It is used to answer your request, to arrange meetings, to send you our proposals and to follow up. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures, and our legitimate interest in developing our business.
The company profile, drawn up in a meeting to describe the context of the work offered, concerns the organisation, not individuals.
From your space, you consult and modify your data. It is kept for as long as the relationship has a purpose, with no period fixed in advance, and its withdrawal is carried out on simple request. Documents that the law requires us to keep, accounting records in particular, follow their own periods. Your data is neither sold nor passed on. Access, rectification, erasure, objection: hello@cernio.eu.
Common to both parts
Hosting and service providers
Data hosted in Europe, processed in accordance with the GDPR. We call on technical service providers for sending emails, online forms, messaging and appointment booking. All are established in the European Union, contractually bound to the same requirements as us, and use your data for no purpose other than ours. The named list of these providers is supplied on request: hello@cernio.eu.
The newsletter
The email address you leave to receive Cernio news serves no other purpose. It is not attached to your profile and plays no part in the selection. Subscription only counts once you have clicked the confirmation link you receive: without that click, nothing is recorded. Every message carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all sending, and you may ask for your address to be erased whenever you wish: hello@cernio.eu. This subscription is open to everyone, not only to candidates.
Referrals
If you request a referral link, your email address is used solely to send it to you and to recognise the registrations that come from you. The link carries a code derived from your address, which has no other use. Here too, the request only counts once you have clicked the confirmation link. You pass on no data on anyone else's behalf: each person registers themselves and gives their own consents. You may ask for sending to stop and for your address to be erased whenever you wish: hello@cernio.eu.
Audience measurement
We measure traffic to the site with a tool that sets no cookie, creates no identifier and does not follow you on any other site. No personal data is collected on that basis, and traffic data is hosted in the European Union. This measurement is never used for advertising.
